This tournament brings people from all over the surrounding area. The next event is the Green River Road Race, a 5-mile run on a hilly course. Then there is the Miss Butler County Fair Beauty Pageant and Butler County Fair 4-H Show. For the kids, we have a terrapin race and kids zone at the festival. If you are adventurous, you might want to try our Kayak & Canoe Challenge and Fun Float or catfish wrestlin’. Some other popular events are our annual dog show and car show. If you want to hang out, we have many carnival rides, booths, and live music at the festival.
Christmas Parade
We hold this event every year on the first Saturday of December. Our parade route runs right through the heart of Morgantown, past many of our local businesses. Every year, the parade includes various things that make it appealing to the local community and the surrounding area. The parade contains sections for floats, beauty queens, antique cars, jeeps, company trucks, motorcycles, horses, and more. It includes the Butler County High School marching band and Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Harvest on the Square
This event is held in the fall on the courthouse square of Morgantown if whether permits. It usually hosts around 70 vendors and includes different activities for kids. In the past there have been inflatables, a pumpkin carving contest, and a Halloween costume contest. If the weather is not suitable for having an outside event, we will either find an alternate location or postpone to a later date. Here is a link for vendor applications.

Other Events & Activities
Not all of our events occur from year to year. However, upcoming events will be posted on the calendar, which is located on the home page. Here are some of the events and activities we have done and may continue to do if participation continues.
Lemonade Crawl
We will have our first lemonade crawl on May 10th, 2025. This event encourages community members to visit participating local businesses by offering free lemonade at every location. It also encouraged community members to shop at local businesses by bringing them to the stores. Once they have visited a business, the business will give them a stamp of approval to say they have been there. If they visit every participating store and return their card to the chamber by 3 pm that day, they will be entered to win a $250 gift card.
Scarecrow Adoptions
When you adopt a scarecrow, it is placed somewhere in the middle of Morgantown with your company name or your name on a banner held by the scarecrow. This scarecrow can then be seen by anyone who passes through Morgantown. Therefore, it is advertising your business without you having to put in any more effort.
Hot Chocolate Crawl
In 2024, we had our very first hot chocolate crawl. This event encouraged community members to visit participating local businesses by giving away free hot chocolate at every location. It also encouraged community members to shop at local businesses by bringing them to the stores. Once they visited a location, the location would give them a stamp of approval to say they had been there. If they visited every participating store and returned their card to the chamber by 3 pm that day, they would be entered to win a $250 gift card.
