SKYCTC is one of sixteen separately accredited colleges that comprise the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The college operates six campuses and serves ten counties in south-central Kentucky. The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society of Human Resource Management has named Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in Kentucky. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services, the Associate Director of Educational Opportunity Centers will assist in leading a newly funded, 5-year grant to serve income-eligible, first-generation college adult learners. The primary job duties and responsibilities include:

• Administer project activities
• Plan and implement financial literacy, career planning, study skills, workshops
• Create and manage an annual program calendar of activities and events
• Publicize and market the program
• Build collaborations with campus and community partners
• Supervise data entry into the student reporting database
• Supervise maintenance of participant files
• Assist in supervising program staff
• Monitor progress toward achieving program objectives
• Ensure program compliance with federal regulations, grant requirements, and institutional policies Assist in developing all performance reports and grant proposals for submission to the United States Department of Education
• Serve on College committees and promoting positive relations on our campus

The successful candidate will also attend appropriate State, Regional, and National TRIO conferences and trainings; and maintaining membership in State and Regional professional associations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Education, Social Science or related field; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; leadership experience in either paid or unpaid positions; experience teaching FYE 110, or similar student success courses; grant writing experience. The successful candidate must also possess knowledge of federal TRIO regulations; strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the College, and favorably represent the institution with external constituents; knowledge of College admissions requirements; knowledge of Advising requirements; experience with PeopleSoft; the ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations; and proficiency with common computer applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of SSS, the Project Coordinator of EOC will work within a newly funded, 5-year grant to serve income-eligible, first-generation, adult learners. The primary job duties and responsibilities include:

• Assist in the identification, recruitment, and selection of eligible EOC participants
• Provide academic coaching and career coaching to EOC program participants
• Present financial literacy workshops and provide support through the financial aid process
• Assist with activities and the implementation of workshops
• Coordinate outreach with campus and community partners.
• Act as a liaison between program participants and education partners, as needed
• Provide guidance in post-secondary school entry and entry into a GED program
• Maintain proper documentation of program participants.
Assist program participants with necessary paperwork to pursue educational goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Student Affairs, Education, Social Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred); strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; proficiency with common computer applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel. The preferred candidate will also possess experience in educational opportunity programs, understanding of intrusive advising, and willingness to assist at-risk adult students, as well as experience working with minority, low-income, first generation, and students with disabilities.
